Ilsa approached
this project beginning with the concept of apron itself from a
functional aspect. She wanted to create imagery that both suited
the context of application from the end users point of view whilst
making the artwork fit with the clients brand of playful and
charismatic icons. The end result was a simple range of animal
metaphors that figuratively represented the potential concept for
use e.g. grease monkey for fixing the car, an ox for the barbeque
etc. The colours were selected for their ability to both relate to
and set the tone for context, e.g. red for cooking, green for
gardening and the circular form of the backdrop both projected the
linear graphic and helped to identify the product as in keeping
with the rethinkthings brand.
